Don't make victims suffer twice

Even less serious crimes can have a lasting impact on victims

Responding to the Government decision to abandon plans to cut compensation for victims of less serious crimes, Javed Khan, Chief Executive of Victim Support, said:

"As the charity for victims of crime we are pleased the Government has decided to abandon its plans to cut compensation for victims of less serious crimes for now.

"This turnaround shows the Government is listening to victims of crime and taking action to make their needs a priority.

"We hope Police and Crime Commissioners also take this attitude on board when they are elected in November by signing up to our five pledges to put victims first."
